All school groups with at least
20 students
will receive our school discount.
Hello,
The tours will now be more of a
hands on tour.
Classes
will have to bring vinyl gloves and flashlights for each student.
This will
allow the students to handle different things in the cave with the guides
supervision. They can use their flashlights to look into nooks and
crannies. This method will allow classes to study and feel the different
rocks, minerals, fossils, cave formations, etc. The tour will last longer
because everyone is going in at the same time. We will be targeting
specific areas for each tour, example: history classes will be studying
more of the history, science classes will be more specific in this area,
and math classes will be a more specific tour. We encourage everyone
to bring pen and paper for the math class and any other class the teacher wants
notes on. The tours will be anywhere from 1 1/2 hour long to 2 hours long
for each group. The time will be according to the students questions and
interest. The students will be divided into groups according to the number
of guides on hand. You need to book in advance, so guides will be on hand
to handle the tours. We like to keep the groups smaller so the students
learn more and the inter action is greater between students and the guide.
However, we do what ever needs to be done to meet the need at that time.
Good walking shoes and
a jacket with lots of interest in the underground world will be needed.
You can book a tour by calling 1-304-645-7600 or e-mailing us. The
booking needs to be a week ahead of date set for tour. There is a 48
hour cancellation policy for these tours. If not followed, there is a
50%
charge. We do have staff change and scheduling to accommodate you, and
this costs the management.
Schools need to bring
their tax number. The cost is $4.00 per student for elementary schools,
$7.00 for middle schools and high schools students. One teacher is free
per 20 students and if arriving by school bus, one driver per bus is free.
All others, teachers, and chaperons will be charged the $7.00 each. These
will or will not be charged tax, according to school policy.
We now have a zip line
plus a climbing and repelling wall. We have the harness plus helmets
for these attractions. We do not assume responsibility from
accidents on these attractions. You may ride, climb, or repel only by
having a signed waiver from your parent or teacher.
