Fossil Hunting in

 Organ Cave

On this tour we go fossil hunting. It may be in the commercial section or we may travel into the wild section where we wear helmets, lights and knee pads and there is no electricity.  You bring your own hand held flashlight. We will furnish the helmet, and helmet light plus knee pads and gloves. Children can only go into the commercial section because of their size. I am talking about the smaller children ages 5, 6 and 7. No child under 5 can do this because they are too small. Older children that normally do the expeditions can do the rest of the fossil hunt.

Any thing found has to be photographed and logged by date and location. Nothing can be taken by the finder. All finds will stay at Organ Cave. Your name will be attached and you will be given credit for the find.

You must pack a lunch and water for the trip in a backpack for yourself. There will be a guide with you at all times that will be hunting also.

These trips will be about  4 to 5 hours. The cost will be $70.00 each plus tax.  You may also bring your own camera. Waivers have to be signed just like the extended expeditions. We also need two people minimum for each hunt.

You cannot tell the locations of any finds unless aurthorization from Organ Cave has been given you.

                     Caves

Caves alow for hunting of fossils of all kinds. Caves are very attractive to children to explore.  Make sure the caves you choose to go exploring are safe and you have a guide. Remember in caves you need extra flashlights and always take water. It is always a good thing to take candles with you also when in caves. These are just a few reminders when exploring caves for fossils or just to have fun.
